What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Street Tacos”? For me, it means real Authentic Mexican Flavor. Where I grew up street corner taco trucks came a dime a dozen.  Conveniently, there was a taco truck parked right across the street from my house every Friday night. lucky girl……
My senior year of high school I was dating my then boyfriend now husband. Every Friday night like clockwork we would walk across the street and order a plate full of tacos. (His plate had more than mine…….maybe?) No matter the quantity one thing always remained the same. The flavor, those tacos always had just the right amount of tender grilled meat full of authentic Mexican flavor. Today that’s what I hope to bring to your kitchen with this Original Street Taco recipe. 
Carne Asada meat is cooked to perfection and placed inside warm corn tortillas then topped with cabbage cilantro and lime to deliver the ultimate street taco bite.

Original Street Tacos

These Original Street Tacos are nothing short of amazing! The authentic flavor of marinated Carne Asada coupled with corn tortillas and fresh lime make this recipe for Original Street Tacos legit.


Carne Asada Marinade

  • 2 lbs Carne Asada flank Steak , Cut in to small pieces
  • 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1 Lime, Juiced
  • 1/2 Tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tasp Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Cilantro

Taco Toppings

  • 1 Small Onion
  • 1 Cup Shreaded Cabbage
  • 2 Limes , Wedge Cut


  • 1)

    Mix together all ingredients for the Carne Asada Marinade. Pour marinade into a gallon sized ziplock bag. Place meat into the marinade letting your meat marinade for at least four hours.

    Once the meat has marinaded heat a skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.  Add meat to hot skillet and cook until all the juice has cooked off.

    Assemble Tacos and top with cabbage, onion, and cilantro.
